2009 UniTech Services Group adds MAXAIR Powered Air Purifying Respirator to its line of nuclear protection products

SPRINGFIELD, MA, June 11, 2009 -- UniTech Services Group, a worldwide leader in radiological laundering, protective clothing programs, industrial safety products and tool and respirator services is pleased to add the MAXAIR Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) to its line of nuclear protection products. MAXAIR provides superior respiratory protection anywhere workers may be exposed to heat stress or contaminated air. Its proprietary design provides complete protection from airborne particulates and splashes. UniTech is the exclusive authorized nuclear industry distributor of the NIOSH-approved powered air-purifying respirator.

The MAXAIR system features a helmet, disposable HE filter, filter cover, and choice of disposable cuff or shroud. LED visual safety indicators display real-time information on remaining battery life and airflow. Compared to traditional PAPRs, MAXAIR is 33% lighter, making it more comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Its patented hose-free design allows for increased freedom of movement and prevents workers from getting caught or snagged on objects in the work area.

"MAXAIR is an exciting addition to our respiratory products and services," said Gregg Johnstone, Director of Sales and Marketing, UniTech Services Group. "It provides workers with unprecedented safety, comfort and convenience. It also helps customers save money by eliminating the need for annual fit testing and allowing workers to accomplish critical path tasks in a shorter period of time."

Key Features and Benefits:

  • Lightweight, hose-free design
  • Enhanced LED indicators automatically alert the user when it's time to exit the environment to change the battery or air filter
  • Advanced air control - provides a quiet and gentle air flow, improving communication
